Startups campus hiring may see a pullback

While a few including Zomato, Indus Insights and ProcMart said their campus hiring targets had gone up compared to last year, others including Razorpay, Simplilearn, CashKaro and NoBroker indicated that their numbers would be flat or lower.

US jobless claims rise slightly, still remain historically low

Initial unemployment claims increased by 5,000 to 213,000 in the week ended Sept. 17, after a downward revision in the prior week, Labor Department data showed Thursday. The median estimate in a Bloomberg survey of economists called for 217,000 new applications.

Hiring intent strong among most Indian Companies for December quarter

​​​About 64% of Indian employers covered in the latest ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey, shared exclusively with ET, said they will recruit more people in the coming quarter, while 10% see a decrease in hiring intent and 24% expect to keep workforce levels steady. Only 2% were unsure about hiring intentions. Hiring markets in India are ranked first in the Asia-Pacific Middle-East (APME) region, 24 points above the global average.
