The Indeed Hiring Tracker of Q1, FY23, is based on a survey of 1,229 employers and 1,508 employees during April-June 2022.The findings further revealed that 37 per cent of all jobseekers looked for a job or a job change during the quarter, compared to 46 per cent during the previous quarter, it added.

An increasing number of employers are focusing on hiring candidates who have some prior work experience and apprenticeships is playing a crucial role in bridging this gap, according to a study by TeamLease Degree Apprenticeship and JustJobs Network. The study states that doubling the number of apprentices from 500,000 to 10,00,000 per year, and setting an initial target of 10 million apprentices in ten years, is a crucial step in bridging the skill gap.

Companies across the mining, consulting, paper pulp, electric vehicles, cement, FMCG and financial sectors, among others, want leaders to manage their ESG initiatives through cleaner and greener processes and improved transparency in reporting, and to develop a long-term sustainability roadmap, said executive search firms Korn Ferry, Transearch, and Claricent Partners, which are seeing a two to three times increase in mandates.

According to the NSO’s (National Survey Office) Time Use in India survey in 2019, the average time women were spending on unpaid domestic service for household members was three times that of men, while the average time they spent on unpaid caregiving services for household members was nearly double that of men, at 134 minutes vs 76 minutes.
